This study begins with a central question: if knowledge of God is innate and deeply rooted in human nature, why is this innate disposition obscured in so many people to the point of outright denial? The study seeks first to clarify the theoretical foundations and principles underlying the claim that knowledge of God is innate, examining its ontological, epistemological, anthropological, axiological, and methodological dimensions. It then analyzes the factors that obstruct this innate disposition and impede its realization in conscious life. The study adopts a comparative, analytical, and critical methodology that combines textual and philosophical analysis with insights from contemporary epistemology and the psychology of religion. It concludes that innate knowledge of God rests on well-grounded foundations that make it an authentic and enduring feature of human nature. It is not completely extinguished; rather, it is obscured by a complex range of factors, most notably the distortion of religious concepts, ignorance and inadequate knowledge, following one's passions and becoming absorbed in desires, arrogance and pride, and the epistemological restriction of knowledge to the empirical method. The study further proposes analytical means of how this obscured innate nature may be awakened. It brings together a cognitive approach-correcting misconceptions and addressing intellectual doubts-with psychological and ethical formation, including self-purification, resisting the passions, and cultivating modesty. Awakening, in this understanding, does not mean producing a new form of knowledge from nothing; it means removing the veils that prevent an already-rooted disposition from coming to awareness. In this way, the study offers an approach to doubt and atheism that goes beyond abstract rational debate by identifying the cognitive, psychological, and behavioral factors that obscure the fiṭra and prevent it from becoming effective, while also identifying possible pathways for its reawakening.
