It seeks to deconstruct the claim of scientism that knowledge is confined exclusively to the empirical method, highlighting the tensions this position creates within its own internal consistency. For the assertion that science is the sole source of truth is itself a philosophical claim, not a scientific proposition subject to empirical verification. The article adopts an analytical approach and an epistemological critique to examine the limitations of empirical science and the capacities of the human mind, as well as the limitations of reductionist materialism in providing a comprehensive ontological framework for explaining human existence and metaphysical phenomena. From the perspective of Islamic philosophy, and specifically drawing on the conceptual tools of Transcendent Philosophy (al-Hikma al-Muta'āliya), the study concludes that a methodological distinction must be drawn between science as a limited means of acquiring knowledge and scientism as a materialist ideology that draws science into metaphysical disputes and domains lying beyond its methodological scope. The study maintains that epistemic balance requires recognition of the diversity and complementarity of the sources of knowledge. On this basis, it concludes that the idea of "inevitable conflict" between science and religion is open to substantial reconsideration.
